APC Lagos Appeals Against Al-Mustapha Release In Supreme Court: The All Progressive Congress…

The All Progressive Congress (APC) Government in Lagos State has gone to the Supreme Court of Nigeria to challenge acquittal of Major Hamza al-Mustapha and Lateef Shofolahan over Mrs Kudirat Abiola's murder, according to the release from the state Attorney-General, Mr Ade Ipaye Big wigs of the newly registered political party, the APC has shown their disappointment over the release of the former aide to Late Gen Sani Abacha, by the court of Appeal.

Lagos Won't Stop Evacuation Of Beggars – Speaker

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, has said the exercise to rid the state of destitute persons and security threats will continue. Ikuforiji made this statement on Saturday in reaction to the criticisms by the Anambra State Government, over the 'deportation' of some destitute, said to be its indigenes, from Lagos State.

I'm Fighting Amaechi Because Of Jonathan; Wike Declares


For the second time in eight days, Minister of State for Education Nyesom Wike on Sunday blew hot over the Rivers State crisis, declaring that he won’t fold his arms and watch Governor Rotimi Amaechi rubbish his new boss, President Goodluck Jonathan. “The message is clear. This is a mass movement, because we want a change in Rivers State. I was a politician before I became a minister and I am still a politician. I cannot fold my arms and stay in Abuja and be doing ministerial work and somebody (Amaechi) is giving my boss conditions. I will not accept that.”

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) yesterday suspended Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State after accusing him of being involved in anti-party activities. The party voted to remove Okorocha at an emergency National Executive Council meeting which held in Abuja yesterday afternoon following Okorocha's recent dissolution of his cabinet and alleged membership of the opposition coalition, All Progressives Congress (APC).

Lagos ACN Supports Deportation Of Beggars

The Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria says it supports the expulsion of 67 beggars and destitute by the Lagos State Government to the Upper Iweka Bridge, Onitsha, Anambra State.
The party, in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe, on Tuesday, said the action of the state government would go a long way in reducing crime in the state.

INEC Are Trying To Kill Us - APGA National Publicity Secretary, Benard Akoma

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been accused of plotting to kill the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) by taking sides with the Victor Umeh factor rather than performing "its constitutional functions of monitoringinternal democratic mechanisms of political parties." National Publicity Secretary, Benard Akoma made this allegation recently and also faulted INEC's recognition of the Umeh faction, which he said as being based on misreading the appeal court's ruling on Umeh's suit. APGA right now have two National Chairmen as neither want's to recognise the other's as the rightfull occupant of the position.

the battle to succeed the outgoing governor of Anambra State. Yesterday, Senator Chris Ngige stole the show in the Senate chambers as the two of the three senators from Anambra State declared their intention to vie for the forthcoming gubernatorial election. Senator Ngige, ACN, Anambra Central and Andy Uba, PDP, Anambra South in separate letters to the Senate informed the legislative house of their separate decisions to contest the election.

Anambra election: Okwu faction disowns Umeh’s timetable

 The Barrister Maxi Okwu's led faction of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, yesterday said that the timetable released by the National Secretary of the party, Alhjai Sani Shinkafi for the November 16, 2013 Governorship election in Anambra State was fake. Barrister Okwu, who claimed in a statement issued in Abuja that his faction was the authentic, therefore, warned aspirants against picking the N2 million for expression of interest announced by Alhaji shinkafi.
