AUGUST RANKING: Top 100 Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics
The top 100 Nigerian Tertiary Institutions as at August, 2013, according to Webometrics, an Online ranking company who base their results of most searched terms. The ranking is calculated based on their search term. If you do not find your choice of Institution there, then know something is wrong somewhere. The top 20 Universities in Nigeria always maintain their ranking. Obafemi Awolowo University is topping the list, while Auchi Polytechnic comes 2nd. Some Unviversites have also dropped in this list.

The nominees for the 2013 African Oscars awards taking place on September 14 has just been released.
The event which is organised by Nollywood and African Film Critics, USA, will hold at Warner theatre, Washington DC.

ASUU STRIKE: Rivers Varsity ignores ASUU strike, continues normal academic activities
Academic activities at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) are unaffected by the current nationwide strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over differences with Federal Government. Although the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University, Prof. Barineme Fakae, confirmed this development yesterday, he however did not explain why the varsity has defied the nationwide strike by public owned universities. The school is in full academic activities as the end of session examinations is just a week away.

Dead man wakes up, grabs bottle of water at own funeral
Onlookers were shocked when a man, who was said to be dead, suddenly got up and grabbed a bottle of water. The soft drink vendor in China faked his own death in order to sue the government after an altercation with government employees. But his cover was blown when he became too hot in the Hubei Province, in central China.
Identical twin U.S. astronauts to serve as research subjects
NASA's only identical twin astronauts are planning to serve as guinea pigs for studies investigating the genetic impacts of long-duration spaceflight.
Astronaut Mark Kelly, who commanded four space shuttle missions including the final flight of Endeavour, is set to be a test subject on Earth while his twin undergoes studies in orbit.
Kelly left NASA in 2011 to care for his wife, former U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords. She was shot through the head in January 2011 when a gunman opened fire at a political event in Arizona, killing six people and wounding 26 others.
