Chinedu Echeruo: the nigerian that sold hopstop for 1 1billion
In a bid to shore up its mobile and Web mapping infrastructure, Apple has confirmed a purchase of Nigerian entrepreneur Chinedu Echeruo‘s (pictured) HopStop.com application. With Google buying the Israel-based Waze map application for a reported $1.1 billion, it has been rumored that HopStop’s acquisition was worth a similar amount.

ASUU may call off strike next Thursday
There are indications that the on-going strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities might be called off next Thursday.
Governor of Benue State, Mr Gabriel Suswam who dropped this hint Friday said ASUU and the Federal Government had reached agreements on all the contentious issues that led to the industrial action except two.

Mrs. Asogbon Abosede, a 53-year-old primary school teacher, has been arraigned at the Ikeja Magistrate's Court for allegedly impersonating the wives of Lagos and Osun states governors and defrauding officials of the Lagos State Government. Abosede, a Grade 10 teacher, was said to have committed the crime between June and July 2013 through text messages in which she claimed to be Mrs. Abimbola Fashola and Mrs. Sherifat Aregbesola.
